Honda’s new compact crossover is here, and we want to take a look at the 2016 HR-V EX standard features to let you know what a mid-range version of this popular new crossover is capable of. One of the best ways to see what it has to offer is to put it up against a comparable vehicle like the 2015 Nissan Juke SV. Can the Juke stand up to the HR-V?
Honda Gives Drivers Features They Want
Honda has been defining themselves as the brand that gives drivers the standard features they want without needing to upgrade. As we’re looking at the mid-range EX trim, you’ll find Bluetooth, a multi-angle rearview camera, Honda’s 60/40 split-folding rear Magic Seat, remote entry, USB audio, and more from its LX trim level. It’s already outdoing the mid-range Juke SV, and that’s before we add on HR-V EX features like:
- One-touch power moonroof
- Heated front seating
- 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen
- Honda LaneWatch
- Push-button ignition
- Smart Entry
- HondaLink Next Generation telematics
- Dual zone climate control
The Nissan Juke SV requires upgrades for many of these features despite being a mid-range trim, and that’s not counting the Honda-exclusive items like the Honda LaneWatch blind spot monitoring system, the Display Audio touchscreen, or the HondaLink telematics. While Nissan may include a rearview camera, Honda’s camera system gives you three views to be sure you can back up with confidence.
The HR-V Offers More Space
The 2016 HR-V EX has a total of 96.1 cubic feet of passenger space with seating for up to five, while the Juke only has 85.4 cubic feet of passenger space, barely comfortable for four passengers.
If you don’t need to fill all of the seats, you can haul more in the HR-V as well. Fold down part or all of the 60/40 split-folding rear Magic Seat and expand the cargo area from 24.3 cubic feet to as much as 58.8 cubic feet. The Juke only starts with 10.5 cubic feet of cargo room and expands to just 35.9 cubic feet.
Test Drive a Honda Today
We think that it just takes one look at the 2016 Honda HR-V EX standard features and interior space to see that it simply has more to offer than the Nissan Juke, but at the same time, we want to show you more. The HR-V deserves to be seen in action, and you can take it for a test drive at a Capital Region Honda Dealer near you.
