Now that the 2016 Honda CR-V has arrived at Capital Region Honda Dealers, we think it’s time to see how the competition compares. The 2016 Nissan Rogue features have come a long way from just last year’s model, but can they hope to compare to one of the best-equipped crossovers in its class? We put these two crossover SUVs head to head to make it easier for our Albany area drivers to decide which one is right for them.
Honda Sets the Standard on Features
We think that one of the best ways for you to see what the 2016 Nissan Rogue features are like is to see the standard amenities for the 2016 Honda CR-V. Each 2016 CR-V comes with the following features on even the basic LX trim level:
- Bluetooth HandsFreeLink for phone and audio
- Pandora Internet radio compatibility
- SMS text messaging integration
- Multi-angle rearview camera system
- Steering wheel-mounted controls
- Built-in i-MID infotainment system
And while Nissan does make some comparable features available, we think there’s just one thing you need to know about the basic Rogue S: Nissan still expects you to upgrade for floor mats. Honda gives drivers all of the amenities above and more, yet something as simple as floor protection is an upgrade on the Rogue. Even when it’s able to match the CR-V on some tech features, it manages to fall short on some of the most basic amenities (and tech amenities like the rearview camera of the Rogue are a step down from Honda’s multi-angle rearview camera).
When it comes to capabilities, the CR-V offers more as well:
- The 2016 Honda CR-V FWD is rated at 185 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque, able to tow up to 1,500 pounds.
- The 2016 Nissan Rogue FWD can only tow 1,000 pounds and manages just 170 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque.
Test Drive the CR-V
We think it’s clear which crossover has the advantage, but you need to decide it for yourself. The only way to really know firsthand whether or not the CR-V is the right vehicle for you is to see all of its advantages over the 2016 Nissan Rogue’s features from the best seat in the house: the driver’s.
