While the 2016 Nissan Rogue safety features are sure to meet government standards, we know that many of our Albany area drivers expect more out of a modern crossover. We’ve already covered how the 2016 Jeep Patriot safety features fail to measure up to a modern crossover like the 2016 Honda CR-V, and now it’s time to look at the Rogue.
Comparing Safety Features
Many modern crossovers have at least a few of the same safety features, ranging form the expected airbags and seat belts to a rearview camera system. In addition to their standard multi-angle rearview camera (the Rogue only has a single view on their camera), the CR-V has advanced Honda Sensing safety features available, including:
- Forward Collision Warning
- Collision Mitigation Braking
- Lane Departure Warning
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Adaptive Cruise Control
These features combined with Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure and standard safety technologies have given the CR-V an edge over the Rogue in safety tests. Take a look at the NHTSA scores:
- Front Driver Crash Test: CR-V earned 5 stars to the Rogue’s 4
- Front Passenger Crash Test: CR-V earned 5 stars to the Rogue’s 3
- Overall Frontal Crash Rating: CR-V earned 5 stars to the Rogue’s 4
- Overall Safety Rating: CR-V earned 5 stars* to the Rogue’s 4

As you can likely tell by the name, this safety feature is a Honda exclusive. We want to highlight Honda LaneWatch and give you a quick look at what sets this unique feature apart from competing safety options.
This camera gives you a better look at what’s in your blind spot so you can know if there’s a car there before even thinking of changing lanes. You won’t find LaneWatch on the list of 2016 Nissan Rogue safety features.
