2019 Honda Insight Parked at Mountain Lookout

The 2019 Honda Insight has been named the 2019 Green Car of the Year from Green Car Journal. It’s the fourth time that a Honda hybrid model has won the award but the first for the Honda Insight, which sees an all-new design for 2019 and, of course, incredible fuel-economy. Edmunds.com says, “its numerous strengths—which include a spacious cabin, quick acceleration and excellent value for the money—lead us to recommend it heartily against any other hybrid on the market.”

Power and Efficiency

The 2019 Honda Insight comes in three trim levels, all powered by a hybrid system comprised of a 1.5L four-cylinder engine that acts as a generator to supply power to an electric motor that drives the front wheels. In total, the hybrid system will produce up to 151 horsepower with a congenial ride quality. It accelerates quickly, handles responsively, and is perfect both for everyday driving and for longer journeys. Plus, drivers will achieve incredible fuel economy of an EPA estimated 55 mpg in the city and 49 mpg* on the highway.
