If you’ve been keeping up with recent automobile news, you may already know that the 2018 Honda Accord is coming to the market with a whole new style, enhanced performance, and more standard features than before. If you didn’t already know that, you’ll definitely want to stick around as we outline a few of the main changes coming this year.
What to Look Out for
The 2018 Honda Accord will be undergoing a plethora of changes, so we’re going to focus on the most important ones for now and let you experience the rest in person. First off, the whole reason for the redesign stems from a desire to change things up to appeal to the newest generation of buyers. To do this, the 2018 Honda Accord actually rewinds time and works off an exterior more similar to the classic Accord fundamentals of a sporty and athletic design. This includes a longer wheelbase, lower overall height, wider body, wider wheel tracks, shortened overall length, and sportier seating. Of course, the new model brings new interior design and technology as well. Some of these new elements include a panoramic forward view, soft-touch instrument panel, 12-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, a 6-inch head-up display, and standard Honda Sensing.
Aside from styling, the 2018 Honda Accord also introduces us to two new powertrains. The first is a 1.5L 16-valve DOHC with dual VTC and the power to deliver 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. If that’s not enough power, there’s also the 2.0L turbocharged, racing-inspired engine with 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Accompanying these two gas engines will also be a 2.0L two-motor Accord Hybrid model.
